Spaces

What is a Space?

A space is a collection of content. Depending on the needs of your organization, spaces can be further divided into subspaces (for a large grouping of content nested within a space) and/or sections (where the content actually lives within spaces or subspaces).

How do I create a Space?

  1. Available to site admins and above, login to your OA account.

  2. Find the drop down arrow next to the home icon in the top left hand corner.

  3. Click “Create New Space”

  4. The following fields are required before you are able to save your space:

    1. Title of the space

    2. Visibility/Privacy Access of the Space (public vs. private)

    3. Group user inheritance

    4. Group roles and permissions

    5. Space type

  5. Optional fields for entry include:

    1. Description of the space

    2. URL specifier

    3. Featured image

    4. Notifications

    5. Menu options

    6. Publishing options

    7. Authoring options

What is the difference between a space and a group?

The purpose of a space is to organize your content, while the purpose of a group is to organize your members across spaces.
